1988 NIGHT OF THE RED HUNTER

Director David Copeland took a leap of faith when he entrusted the visual effects for this late 80s TNVZ children’s series to me, and it mostly paid off.

Flying through the solar system was a big ask for the Cubicomp system, and I ended up having to plot a trajectory mathematically into a series of translations and rotations around specific planets. (hence the rather linear feel of the titles)

The glowing energy fields were a combination of hand painted elements and code-generated particles flows. Luckily, the final evil spaceship (complete with evil texture render errors) was destroyed by the plasma ball element just in time!
